Frequently Asked Questions

Can these openers handle older or heavier doors?

Yes. The Panel Ace is suitable for most standard sectional garage doors. However, if your door includes added weight such as cladding, windows, insulation, or decorative finishes, the Panel Boss is recommended due to its more powerful 1500N drive. This additional lifting capacity helps ensure smoother operation and reduces strain on the opener over time.

How do the remotes perform in real world conditions?

Our remote controls use a proprietary coding system engineered to perform in real world environments where signal interference is common. Many remotes in the market quote “100m range in open field testing”, which sounds great until you realise most doors aren’t installed in a paddock.

Our remotes have been tested in real world conditions, achieving 100m+ range in industrial environments, including operation through office walls, shed walls and even shipping containers.

The result is consistent performance where it matters, fewer interference related issues and fewer callbacks on site.

How does the manual release system compare to older designs?

Yes. All Auto Openers motors include a redesigned manual release system with a smooth, controlled pull to disengage and re engage the door.

The improved mechanism eliminates the harsh or inconsistent feel common with older systems, delivering a more reliable experience for end users.

Compatible models can also be fitted with the Auto Openers Battery Backup for continued operation during power outages.

What’s actually included as standard with each opener?

Every Auto Openers unit is supplied as a complete, ready to install system, including:

• 3x AOTXv2 waterproof, crush resistant remotes
• 1x 3.2m belt rail (available in single, 2 piece or 3 piece configurations)
• Installation video access via QR code
• Standard mounting and fixing hardware

How fast can these openers be installed on site?

On a typical installation, with clear access to the installation points:

• Roller door openers: 30 to 45 minutes
• Sectional door openers: 45 to 60 minutes

A simplified, installer focused design reduces setup time, minimises adjustments and keeps jobs moving efficiently on site.

How often do these openers require servicing or adjustment?

Auto Openers systems are designed to minimise the common causes of post install issues, helping you complete jobs once and move on.

Key factors include:

High performance remotes Proprietary coding delivers reliable operation in real world environments, reducing interference related issues
Long life transmitters Built for durability, avoiding premature failures and repeat warranty calls
Adjustable force margins Fine tune the opener to suit the door, ensuring consistent operation across varying conditions
Higher power output Industry leading residential power reduces strain on older or heavier doors, preventing performance issues over time
Proven reliability We currently hold a fail rate of 1 in 15,000 units. We believe this is one of the best in the industry.

The result is a system that performs reliably from day one, reducing callbacks, warranty claims and unnecessary return visits.

What reduces callbacks with Auto Openers?

Sectional garage doors and openers require periodic maintenance to ensure safe and reliable operation. This includes checking the balance of the door, inspecting hinges, rollers and tracks and ensuring the opener’s safety reversal system is functioning correctly.

Because sectional doors operate using high tension springs, lift cables and cable drums, many servicing tasks can be dangerous to carry out without the correct tools and training. For this reason, annual professional servicing is recommended to maintain safety, performance, as well as the long term life of both the door and opener.

Are these openers compatible with common accessories and upgrades?

Yes. Auto Openers systems are designed for straightforward integration with common accessories and upgrades.

Key features include:

Plug and play smartphone control – Simple to install and commission without complex setup
Battery backup compatibility – Allows continued operation during power outages
Removable terminal block – Wire wall buttons, receivers and other accessories safely at ground level, reducing time on the ladder

The result is faster, safer installation and easier upgrades across a wide range of applications.

This includes:

Direct technical support Speak with people who understand the product and real world installation scenarios
